Christmas Morning

Kali woke up on Christmas morning and ran to the kitchen to see if Santa had ate his cookies and drank his milk that she left for him on the counter.  She was a little upset that Santa didn't finish the entire cookie.  I swear a parent can never win!!! LOL!  Christmas morning was very enjoyable.  Grandma Dolores, Tasha, and Savannah also came over to watch the kids open presents and eat Chad's delicious breakfast pizza!  YUMMY!!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Washburn's to celebrate the holiday.  Again, all the grandchildren were very blessed with presents!  We all had a wonderful time.  It was definitely a white christmas!!

Brianna gave Kali and Hoyt the best Christmas presents.  She made them pictures for their room that she did with chalk/pastels.  They both match their room perfectly. I will have to take pictures of them and post them on the blog.  Brianna is very talented!!!  Thank you so much Brianna.  It was a very thoughtful gift and we greatly appreciate it.  However, I think Kali's best Christmas present was Brent (Brianna's boyfriend) coming over to pick Brianna up.  I think Kali has a bit of a crush!!  I don't think she left his side!! LOL!

First Christmas

Thursday December 23 started our first family Christmas.  We celebrated at Grandma and Grandpa Holub's for the immediate family Christmas.  Everyone had a great time and of course G & G Holub spoiled all of the grandchildren!!!

Santa

On Friday I took Jackson, Kali, and Hoyt to see Santa.  Kali and Jackson were perfect Angels waiting in line.  That may have been because I told them that Santa had the names of good and naughty kids and he was taking notes on the kid's behavior.

Kali and Jackson were so excited to see Santa, however Hoyt wasn't so much!!  He did better than I thought he would.  He started to cry and whine, but there were no tears.  However, we didn't stay on Santa's lap very long!!  Hoyt is going through a phase when he sees men he doesn't know he starts crying with BIG crocodile tears.  I guess he even does it with men he does know.

These pictures cracked me up.  Kali is definitely a DIVA!  This outfit is compliments of Grandma Dolores.  It is simply adorable.  It definitely goes with Kali's attitude.  She is quite the poser!! Kali was blowing kisses to you all!!!!

Triplet Update

On Thursday Laura picked me up and we went to visit the triplets.  They all had great reports!!  We are so very proud at the progress they have made.

Austin had moved to the smaller oxygen machine (same machine as Ben) and he was doing awesome with the adjustments.  He weighed 1 1lb 4 oz on Thursday.  His weight went down because the antiobiotics they had him on was effecting his kidneys.  By today his kidneys were working a lot better and his bladder was empty!  Austin was getting a little tummy time!!!

Ben was also having a great day.  He weighed 2 lbs 12.2 oz.  They were going to put him on steroids to get ready to install a CPAP on Friday, if everything went well.  CJ also has the CPAP basically it is taking the tube out of his mouth and having it in his nose.

CJ weighed 3lbs 4 oz.  He is really packing on the ounces!!  I actually heard CJ cry for the first time.  It was soooo cute and soft!!!! Since CJ has the CPAP you can now here every noise they make!!!  The nurse told us they were going to take out the CPAP (the tube that goes in nose and down to back of mouth) to just have the oxygen tubes in the nose!!

It was a great visit!!!  The boys will be 5 weeks tomorrow, Friday December 17th!

Winter Wonderland

The weather definitely is getting colder!!!! Buuuuuurrrrrr!  Hoyt is all bundled up.  The cold weather didn't appear to wake him up!!!

We didn't leave the house on Sunday.  It was just too dreadful.  I addressed my Christmas cards, did some on-line shopping, and worked on putting together a Christmas gift.  Needless to say, Chad spent most of the afternoon with Kali and Hoyt.  In the below picture, Hoyt feel asleep in that position.  He must have been pretty comfy as he stayed in that position for a long time!!!

Let it Snow!

Oh my goodness I forget how excited kids get when they first see snow outside!!!  Kali was so excited and anxious!!!  She couldn't wait to play outside.  I told her we would have to wait until Hoyt took a nap and when Jackson arrived.  Every 15 minutes she would say, "Is it time yet?"

Jackson and Kali had a wonderful time playing in the snow.  I think they could have been out there all afternoon.  But, since daddy is hunting, we could only play outside while Hoyt was napping.  They had a blast!!!!

December 1st

December 1st is Aunt Tasha's Birthday!!!  We all went over for cake and ice cream at Grandma and Grandpa Washburn's.  Everyone was having a good time celebrating Tasha's birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT TASHA!!!

What a FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

19 Days Old

I went to the hospital with Laura to visit the triplets yesterday.  They were 19 days old on Wednesday 12/1/2010.

Ben had outstanding news and he is on the waiting list to be moved up from Bay 1 to Bay 2 in the NICU.  The doctor said she hopes to have Ben reserve the triplet room for his other two brothers. Ben is up to eating 16 cc of breast milk every 3 hours.  He weighed 2 lbs 2.2 ounces yesterday.

BEN

CJ's heart duct unfortunately opened back up so he is scheduled to have heart surgery on Friday.  The doctor said they are bringing in one of the top surgeons so CJ will be in good hands.  After 5 failed rounds of inciden, I think the doctor is looking forward to getting his duct closed so that CJ can have regular feedings and start packing on the ounces!!  He now weighs 2 lbs 12 oz.  It is amazing how much CJ responds to his mommy's voice.  In the below picture I was trying to capture CJ smiling but I didn't get the timing down.  On three separate occasions CJ would smile hearing his mommy.  That can't be a coincidence!!!  Also, Laura found out at 31 weeks the triplets can start hearing music and they can record themselves reading so the boys can constantly hear mommy, daddy, and Jackson!

The doctor sounded very optimistic about Austin's spinal tab he had on Tuesday to check for meningitis, as normally the first day they will see signs of infection in the culture and so far they have not found any, but they said it could take up tp 5 days.  He also had a rough night with his blood pressure on Tuesday, but as of Wednesday he was back to normal and on the mend.  The doctors thought the cause could be that they found blood in his urine and think he may have a urinary tract infection.  On a side note, Laura was able to hold Austin in her hands for the first time.  I was able to see some pictures that Laura had taken and it brought tears to my eyes.  Laura said it reminded her of holding a baby kitten.  Austin is now weighing 1 lb 1.3 oz.

Please continue to keep the Popelka family in your prayers!!

Last Thanksgiving

On Sunday we celebrated our last Thanksgiving for the year.  Dolores ended up preparing all of the delicious food.  It was wonderful!!  It was just going to be a small get together, but Kindra, Reese, and Isabella ended up suprises us.  Kali was so excited to play with Reese!  The girls ended up getting into some makeup.  Kali's lipstick selection was dark purple.  It wasn't one of my favs, but Kali said she applied it perfectly!!!
