Grand March

My friend Amy's daughter, Kelsey, was invited to attend prom at North Linn last weekend.  Kali and I wanted to go to see Kelsey's beautiful dress!!!  Kelsey looked gorgeous to say the least!!!  Kali had a wonderful time watching the Grand March and seeing all the pretty dresses.   I swear, nothing gets passed my daughter, during the march there were two girls that walked down together and Kali whispers to me, "Mom, their boyfriends must have broken up with them."  I really don't know where she gets it.  I guess, on a positive note, she is very observant!!!

Hoyt is 1 Years OLD!!!

Due to everyone's busy schedules, we celebrated Hoyt's birthday on Friday April 15th at the C.P. Library.  We had chicken fajitas, walking tacos, and texas cavier and chips n salsa for the menu.  I think this was a BIG hit....except for Vicki, who doesn't like mexican.

Even though the weather was terrible that day, everyone had a great time!  The theme of Hoyt's party was camoflauge....of course!!!  Daddy baked and decorated the cake for Hoyt's birthday.  The cake was delicious, however everyone was more impressed with Kali's Barbie cake.....maybe next year Hoyt will have to have a GI Joe cake!!! LOL

We would like to thank all our friends and family for coming.  We greatly appreciate it!!!!

Hoyt LOVED the Thomas the Train riding toy that Uncle Brian and Kim got him.  As a matter of fact, Kali and Jackson loved it too.  All day on Saturday Kali and Jackson said they wanted to play with Hoyt, but acutally they wanted to play with his Thomas the Train toy!!!

Aunt Vicki and Uncle Fred got Hoyt the dump trunk with legos.  Everyone in the family has been enjoying that gift.  The above picture is a hooded sweatshirt, but the hood has a mohawk....it is super cute. Thank you Grandma Dolores, Hoyt will look nice and tough!!

Unfortunately, Brianna wasn't able to attend Hoyt's Birthday party as she had her Senior Class Trip to the Mall of America that day.  We missed you Brianna!  :(

Daddy also made Hoyt his very own birthday cake!  It was so comical watching Hoyt go to town on his cake.  He dove right in!!!

It was so cute, Hoyt dropped the entire cake into his pocket of his bib!  He looked at the table and was like, "Where did it go?"  But, then he picked it up from his pocket and kept eating without missing a beat!!!

Thanks again for everyone that made Hoyt's 1st Birthday extra special!  Happy Birthday Hoyt, I can't believe you are already a year old!!!!  We love you!!!!

"ME" Time!!!

On Thursday while I was on vacation I watched CJ and Ben, while Laura treated herself to some much needed "me" time and got pampered for a few hours.  I can't think of anyone who is more deserving!!!

Cory had given Laura, my mom, and I a gift certificate for a spa day given by Tasha Washburn, my sister-in-law.  (IF you have ever gotten one from her you definitely will return for another one).   Tasha was nice enough to accommodate Laura's schedule and she came to her house.

The Spa day started with a candle light epson salt bath to get relaxed!  Then she received a full body exfoliating scrub with steamed towels, and then a hour long full body massage!  Laura said she felt so much lighter and relaxed after her after her massage!!!

I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours with Ben and CJ.  Ben slept for most of the time, but CJ was very excited in his swing.  Every time I would stop the swing to get a picture of CJ smiling, he would stop smiling....so I had to take the pictures while the swing was still going...so that is the reason my photos are center!!!  Doesn't CJ have the BIGGEST smiles!!!  They definitely are contagious!

Brianna's Soccer Game

On Tuesday night Brianna had a soccer game against Mt Vernon.  Brianna scored 1 goal!! YAY Sissy!!!!  Center Point beat Mt Vernon 6-0.  It was an awesome game and a great night for playing soccer.

Since Brianna's soccer games are now at the Fross Park complex instead of playing on the football field, Kali was able to play on all the play ground equipment during half time and after the game!  So, I think Kali likes it better at Fross Park, but I prefer the football field as there is more bleachers and an intercom system to announce the games!!

We have had a couple scares in the last few days.  On Sunday, Azaria (Kali's cousin) was pushing Kali in G'ma and G'pa Washburn's swing and somehow the rope to the swing broke and Kali and the swing went flying.  Luckily, Kali came away with only a couple scrapes on her arm.  By her scream, I thought she was going to have a broken arm but I think it scared her more than anything.  Then after Brianna's soccer game we went to Joensy's and we had Hoyt in his car seat and the waitress helped me put him in those wooden high chairs that you can set upside down so that you can place the car seat on top of it.  We were all visiting and all of the sudden, the high chair flipped over and the carseat landed face down on the ground.  I think Hoyt's head hit the table before it landed face down.  It was really scary.  Luckily, Hoyt only had a little bump on his head.  I definitely think God has been looking out for our children as those accidents could have resulted in very serious injuries!!!

Here is a picture of a very tired little boy.  After a couple hours outside, getting all banged up, and having his belly full, Hoyt was ready to call it a day!!!!

Visiting the Popelka's

Here are some random pictures of us visiting the Popelka's.  Heidi (Cory's sister) was nice enough to take some pictures as I didn't have my camera that day!

Enjoying the OUTDOORS!!!

On Saturday after swimming lessons the kids played outside and road their bikes, scooters, and chased each other.  They were full of energy!!!

Oh the bright sun makes me sneeze!!!!

On Wednesday night, we went outside again and this time Hoyt tested out the grass for the first time.  He wasn't very impressed.  He was fine on the blanket, but then somehow he tipped over and he started  bawling because his head hit the grass.  He wouldn't put his hands down on the grass to get himself back up so he continued to cry and look at me helplessly.  Kali didn't understand why Hoyt was crying...so of course she thought she had done something wrong and she ran inside the house screaming, "I'm a terrible sister, I'm going inside".  Yes, I know we have a little drama queen on our hands!!!  She barely shut the door and was back out...as I told her it wasn't anything she had done wrong.  I explained, that Hoyt didn't like the feel of the grass and that is why he was crying.  It was pretty comical!!!

Hoyt started off liking to sit on the blanket and after the "tipping over" incident, he didn't even want to sit on the blanket anymore!!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

We had a great time last night celebrating Granpda Holub's birthday!  Grandpa got some nice gifts, we had wonderful Pizza Place pizza, and cake and ice cream.  It was nice to spend time with all  of our wonderful family!!!

"Whatcha talking about Uncle Brad?"  Don't listen to a word he says Hoyt!! LOL :)

It seems Hoyt has come out of his shell.  He was no longer "making strange" with any of the guys in our family like he had been.  There was no tears!!!  Hoyt was pretty fond of Great Uncle, Fred.  He really liked Fred's glasses and hat.

Hoyt wouldn't keep the glasses on long enough so that I could take a picture with him looking at me!  He looked so adorable!  He was also prettty fond of grandma and grandpa's fire truck. He was pushing and riding it all over the place!!
