BEN & CJ Visits

Friday night, Savannah and I went over to see Ben and CJ.  It seems the last couple of times when I have visited the babies, one is wide awake and the other one is sleeping.  CJ was sleeping the entire time we were there. 

Taking a picture of both of them is easier said then done!!!  It is hard to have them both looking at the camera at the same time.  Since CJ was sleeping it made it a little easier!

On Saturday, Chad and I joined the Popelka family and had our CPR training!  Yes....Chad and I are now certified to save a life!!  Thank you Heidi for hosting the training and Suzy (Cory's Aunt) for providing the training!

After the CPR Training, I watched Ben and CJ for a couple of hours while Laura went to get her hair highlighted and cut. 

The boys were really good and I think they took it easy on Aunt Lisa!  They both took their turns when they wanted fed and changed.  There was only a couple of minutes where they both wanted my attention.  The thing I am not used to is the boys being attached to cords for their breathing tubes and heart monitors.  Normally, when a newborn is fussy you can hold them while getting a bottle ready, getting a burp rag or whatever, but with these guys they have to remain laying down while you get any of that ready.  It is pretty challenging....but I survived!!!

Swimming Lessons Start

Kali and Jackson started doing swimming lessons again at Bender pool.  Since Laura has her hands full, I will be taking them both on Saturdays for the next 2 sessions (10-12 weeks).  Bender pool does not allow you to take pictures until the last session so I don't have any pictures to share.  However, Kali and Jackson did awesome at their first lesson this year.  They both were attentive listeners and followed directions well.  To celebrate, we went to McDonalds to play on the indoor playground equipment and had lunch and ice cream.  While eating his ice cream Jackson said, this is yummy, I could eat this all night!" It was super cute!

I had taken the day off on Thursday to do some errands and visit CJ at home with Laura.  It is amazing how BIG he is!!  He is such a precious little baby!!

On Thursday night Ben was able to join his family at home.  I think Laura had a long first night with the two babies...but she survived!  Here are some pictures of Ben. He is getting big like CJ.  It is truly amazing.  I think CJ looks like Cory and Ben looks like Laura's baby pictures. 

I stopped over at Laura and Cory's to welcome Ben home on Friday afternoon.  The babies were both sleeping soundly and Laura said that the babies always act like perfect angels when company comes to visit but it is a different story before and after they are there.  So I had to add a picture of Ben crying just to provide proof that they do cry! LOL!  However, Grandma Holub could put her two cents in that the babies do cry!  She was a saint and got up with the two babies on Friday night so that Laura and Cory could get some much deserved uninterrupted sleep!!! 

Lemon smacking good!!!

I think all the attempts of Uncle Brad giving Hoyt a lemon when he was a newborn has made Hoyt immuned to the sour taste.  We gave him a lemon several times when we were out to eat the other night and Hoyt really enjoyed it.  There was no grimmace or pucker!!  Thanks Uncle Brad!!!

  

Bowling for Valentines Day

On Sunday we went Bowling with the Washburn family for Valentines day.  The kids had a blast...and so did the adults.  There are some interesting bowling poses.  I guess you can probably tell we don't get out and bowl very often.  Jackson was able to join in the fun.  I think he was the one that started to bowl on his tummy....pretty cute...the other kids also had to test it out!!!

Sweetheart's Dance

HAPPY Belated Valentines Day to everyone!!!

Saturday February 12th, Brianna had her Sweetheart's dance.  She was nominated to be on the Sweetheart's court!!!  She unfortunately did not win, but she will always be a winner in our hearts!!   Brianna looked so beautiful and TALL!!!  You will even see a picture below where Brianna is towering over her Dad!!!  She obviously got some help from her heels.  Brianna looked gorgeous like always and she always seems to pick out the right dress!!!

We went over to Brianna's grandparent's house (Bill and Dixie) to take pictures.  This is our normal tradition for all of Brianna's dances! We had a ball, it was a wonderful time with friends and family.  I think it is all becoming very real that Brianna will soon be graduating!!!  We only have ONE more High school dance left!! Sniff Sniff!
