On Saturday June 1st, we headed to Arkansas in one vehicle. The travel was a lot better than I had anticipated.....we did have some bumps a long the way, but for the most part it was better than I thought. One of my biggest concerns was and how he would do with potty training, but he did outstanding!
We drove about 8 hours on Saturday and stayed at a hotel, then on Sunday we drove 4 hours to Murfreesboro, AR where we visited Crater of Diamonds State Park, this is the primary reason why we picked Arkansas as our travel destination. Chad had always wanted to take Brianna when she was little and we just never got around to it, so this year we took the entire family.
Everyone at the mine, loved Hoyt's hat....it does look like a miners hat!! :)
Brianna and Clint!
Although we kept the diamonds at the mine for other families to find, we took with us family bonding, dirty faces, and mommy got a bad sun burn. I think Daddy had the most fun and he could have stayed there many more hours, but we still had a 3 1/2 hour drive a head of us and we had to be checked in by 11.
Our Condo was really nice that we stayed at. It slept 6 people, had a huge jacuzzi tub, had a nice swimming pool, and kiddie pool, had volleyball courts, Rec Center, 3 golf courses, 5 minutes to the lake...it was a nice area...the only thing bad was that it was a dry county!!! Chad and Clint on Monday had to go about an hour to buy alcohol and beer.
We did some hiking at The Indian Rock Cave. It was a moderate hike and we all had fun!!
This picture cracks me up!!! I love it!!!
Brianna and I took the kids swimming a lot. The weather was just gorgeous every day we were there, so we had to soak up the sun!!! Kali is a fish...she loves swimming in the deep end where she can't reach. The beginning of the trip she had floaties and by the end she would jump in 5 ft with no floaties with no help and swim back to the side, she also would tread water...she really improved! Hoyt preferred the hotel swimming pool we stayed at the first night because the outdoor pool water was a little chilly. But he still had fun!!!
After we went swimming, every night the kids had to take a bath in the jacuzzi tub!
Relaxing/Chilling
Snoozing
We took a boat trip on a cruise line to spend some time on the lake.
Clint and Chad did a round of golfing and they said the course was a PGA course and it was really nice. We did a family miniature golf outing. Clint was the winner!!!!
Miniature golfing was fun but we left with a bang....Hoyt was in the far back of the Expedition, playing a game and he didn't want to get in his car seat, so I went to go get him and opened the back hatch, a cup fell out and I went to grab it but then Hoyt also fell out of the car and landed on his head. Poor little man :( His head started to bleed pretty bad, it was going into his eye, so I carried him to the restroom and by the time I got there it stopped bleeding...thank goodness. It definitely scared me, but Hoyt was fine after a couple of minutes! It was only a little scratch on his head....we were lucky!!
Hoyt taking it easy and resting
Overall, it was a nice family trip away!!! Thanks Mom and Dad for giving us the accomodations as a Christmas gift a couple years ago!!!! We had a great time!!!
