May 18, 2012 Kali's Preschool Graduation Ceremony!

Kali had a great day on Friday.  She got to attend Great Aunt Vicki's Birthday lunch at Chilli's with Gma Holub, Gma Roseberry, Uncle Brad, cousin Jordan, and me.  Happy Birthday Vicki.

Then after lunch, we headed to the CPU Highschool to attend Kali's Preschool Graduation ceremony!

Congratulations Kali!!! We are so VERY proud of you!

Their caps were soooo cute they were made out of yellow plastic bowls and construction paper.  Very Clever!  Kali was 1 of 116 preschoolers that graduated.  I think the Kindergarten class for this fall will be 130ish, the biggest yet for CPU.

Our little Graduate!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Tee Ball

Kali has had 3 tee ball games!  They are so entertaining to watch.  We enjoy every game.  It is such a riot watching 5 and 6 year old boys and girls playing tball together.  The rules of the game...is pretty much there aren't any.  They all get to run the bases even if they get out....which quite frankly doesn't happen very often.  They get to go only one base at a time and the last batter runs all the way home.

Kali's first game she definitely loved all the eyes watching her.  She did a pretty good job hitting, but then every time she would run she would worry more about holding her helmet instead of running fast to the base.  Then when she would touch home plate she noticed that everyone was watching her so she would stop right in front of home plate and wait and then touch the base.  It was pretty cute.

I was quite surprised at how aggressive Kali was at fielding.  It didn't really matter what position the coach put her because she would almost go after every  ball.  I think she was playing short stop and she went out to center field to field a ball.  Then she was playing 3rd base and she fielded the ball cleanly and started running to first base, because I don't think she thought she could throw the ball that far.  Then she finally threw it when she was close to the base.  With all the running to 1st base, Kali must have gotten confused as she started to think she was the hitter/runner and she stood on 1st base with him and she ran with the runner to 2nd base.  It was so funny!  Daddy told her, "Kali when you have your glove on, you can't run the bases."  IT WAS SO HUMOROUS.  Kali has a lot of players on her team that haven't played before so it is amazing watching them progress and get better every game.

Kali's 2nd and 3rd games were about the same.  She is getting better at batting.  She continues to be very aggressive fielding, regardless if it is her position or not.  I think her goal is to have the dirtiest white paints.  She has started a bad habit that any time she fields the ball she will slide on her knees.  On the 3rd game, Kali was the last batter and she ran so fast around the bases she beat the little boy in front of her.  You could see it on her face that is all she wanted to do was to catch him!

After watching the 1st game, Grandma Dolores didn't think Kali quite looked the part so she graciously bought her cleats, a hot pink helmet, and a pink softball bag.  Thanks Grandma for spoiling her rotten.  I do think she runs faster in the cleats and on the 2nd game when Kali was fielding she was out trying out her cleats by spinning in the dirt like a little ballerina.

I want to thank all of Kali's great friends/family who have come out to watch her.  I think Kali has the biggest cheering section.

The below pictures are from her 1st game.

I forgot to take pictures of all the fans that came to support her the 2nd game.  But here are a couple that I did take of the family.

Hoyt sure likes the snacks at the game......suckers and popcorn....2 of his favs!!!!

3rd Game

Team Huddle after the game....GO TIGERS!! That is what the team named themselves!!!  Again, thanks for all of our family that come to watch Kali play.  We all greatly appreciate it!!!

Fishing, School Carnival, Wedding, & Tball

We sure have been busy the past two weeks.  We had a family fish night, with Daddy, Brianna, Brent, Kali, Hoyt and myself.  However, Hoyt and I didn't stay too long.  Hoyt was a handful.  I think everyone caught at least one or two fish.  So it was a good night out at Palo.

Then we had Kali's first school carnival.  She was pretty excited to go.  I just took Kali and Hoyt because Daddy was busy shingling a roof.  Kali's favorite part was getting her hair colored purple and her nails painted.  Hoyt's favorite part was getting the pointer paw balloons and the flower balloon.  (I didn't get any pictures of those.)

The same night as the school carnival, we had a wedding reception.  Hoyt definitely is girl crazy and he likes the older ladies in particular.  There were two girls, probably 10-12 years old, he was pretty fond of.  He would try to get their attention by running by them while theywere dancing.  Then he attempted to slapp there behinds....hmmm I wonder who taught him that!!!  At first he was a little bashfull to actually slap their behinds, but he finally got the nerve.  That definitely got the girls attention, and Hoyt would run off expecting the girls to chase him.  This went on for about an hour.  It was very humorous.  Most of the people at the reception were watching Hoyt get his game on! LOL

Kali had her fair share of fun at the wedding.  Towards the end of the night, Kali and the bride ended up having a dance off.  Kali won......the bride tried one of Kali's maneuvers and she slipped and fell on the floor.  I think she just rolled her anckle, but we got the bride some ice to be safe! OOOPPSSSIIEE. :(

I didn't get any good pictures to share of the wedding reception, but I had to tell the stories!
