Weekend of Firsts

On Friday, July 20th, Grandpa Holub won tickets to the Kernels game and gave them to our family.  We were all going to go as a family, but Chad couldn't go so Grandma Holub graciously accepted the invitation.  The weather was amazing, especially since it has been so HOT and muggy, and our seats were awesome!!!

It was the kids first Kernels game.  Hoyt LOVED it.  There was so much stuff for him to look at and watch.   He was very entertained.  Kali enjoyed it too, but wanted to get up a lot to check out everything.  Kali can not miss a beat.

The beginning of the game didn't start off too well.  I went to go get refreshments and Gma watched the kiddos. Gma's earring fell off and rolled down the stands and had to ask people in front of them to get it, Hoyt fell down in between the seats and his leg got stuck, then I arrived, with the refreshments and Kali went to take the popcorn out of my hands and it fell on the ground...this was all before the National Anthem.  I think there may have been a couple more things that I am forgetting.....but after all the fiasco...everything went smooth sailing from there! :)

The kids got balloons and their hair colored!

They danced and cheered with their hands in the air!

Kali got her picture taken with Shucks....Hoyt was a little nervous and didn't want to get his picture taken!

They had their first Stadium Hotdog!!!

Kali got her face painted, the lady was just wrapping up her stuff, so only had time for one more face...Poor Hoyt...he didn't seem to mind, he got a batman mask instead!  I was surprised he liked it as typically he is not a fan of masks!!!

They got to play on the blow up play ground!

It was a great night at the ball park!!! Thank you Gpa Holub for the tickets!!!!!  We definitely will be going back!!!

On Saturday, 7/21, we headed to our friends, Amy and Dave's house for a summer block party, where both kids were able to do another first.....they both got a ride on Dave's Harley!!  Hoyt loved it!  It was so cute Dave sat Hoyt in front of him and then started up the motor, and Hoyt's cheeks jiggled from the engine....It was so freakin cute!!!

Amy and Dave and 2 bikes!!

There isn't a mower that Hoyt doesn't sit on or try to ride!!!! :)

Kali had to hang on the rim too!!!!  She loves the monkey bars!!!

It was a great night and it has been wwaaaayyyy too long that we have hung out with Amy and Dave.  We always have so much fun when we do!!

Tooth Fairy Returns.........

On Wednesday 7/18/2012, Kali lost her 2nd tooth.  It was the bottom front left tooth.  Daddy told Kali, before losing her teeth that she was a 5 year with lots of teeth because her permanent teeth (front bottom 2 teeth) were already coming in before she lost her baby teeth.

There were no tears when her 2nd tooth came out.  We were driving home from daycare and Kali was about to tattle on Hoyt for pinching her on the cheek, when all of the sudden Kali felt something and her loose tooth came out.  So instead of tattling on her brother, she was like, "Thank you Hoyt for pitching me!"  I was so glad that tooth came out, because I had told Kali that I would try to pull it out!  WHHEEEWWWHHH save by the bell on that one.

Below are pictures of Kali with her two bottom baby teeth out.  Also, there are pictures of Kali putting her hair up in a pony tail all by herself!!!

Later that night, we had some friends, John, Jeremy, and Jeremy's son Cade come over to help us out with their skid loader/bobcat.  (I have know idea if i spelled that correctly).  Of course, Hoyt loves to ride on everything so Jeremy took him for a little spin.

The above picture looks like Hoyt is scared, but actually he is showing his muscles! :) Hoyt is all boy...except for a little nail polish every once in a while!!!

Hoyt wasn't even afraid of John...I thought he may be, but John said that all kids love him...and I guess he was right.

And of course, Kali enjoyed having guests come over....especially Cade.  She is already starting to flirt.  When Cade got there, Kali had her hair in a pony tail and when Cade was there she took out her pony and shook her hair and then bent over and did a BIG hair flip.  It was priceless...I started to smile at her...and she looks at me and says, "What Mom???"  I was thinking, holy cow I think we are going to have OUR HANDS FULL!!!!  Then later that night, Kali was sitting on the tail gate and one of her flip flops came off, both Cade and I reached for it at the same time, but Cade let me pick it and Kali whispers in my ear, "Mom, I think he was going to pick my shoe up!".....again I just rolled my eyes!!!

The next morning, I asked Kali if she thought Cade was cute, and she smiled and said, "Yes!"  I said, he is cute, but he is kind of old for you....she was like i know, we can just be friends!  I was like wheewhhh!!! :)

Divoky Wedding

On Saturday July 14th, we went to Danielle Divoky's wedding reception on their property in Vinton.  It was a good time to see family members we hadn't seen in a while....however it was pretty hot and humid being outside.  For some reason the heat doesn't seem to bother the kiddos...they will play in anything.  However, Hoyt was not a BIG fan of the fire work display.  When they initially started lighting them, the fireworks were far away and Hoyt was pretty into it, but then they moved the fireworks right by us and Hoyt did not like that.  He would bury his head in my chest and said, "NO FIRE!"  That was the first fireworks he had seen this year since we didn't go over the 4th of July.  Hopefully, he will like them better next year!!!!

Sleeping Arrangements

When Chad is back on the weekends from working out of town, it is back to OUR normal sleeping arrangements!!!  Most people probably wouldn't think this is NORMAL!?!?!? Plus, we only have a queen size bed!!!  Hopefully....soon.....Kali and Hoyt will be sleeping in their own beds!!!  We also had an extra visitor, Rizo (Savannah's baby kitten).  But typically, one kid sleeps with  me with their head by the head board, and one kid sleeps with dad with their head by the foot board!!!  This doesn't make for the best night's rest! :(

Kali was fake sleeping for the picture! But, Daddy and Hoyt were really sleeping!

New Look!!

On Saturday, July 6th, Grandma Holub and I took the kids to Brad and Becky's to swim.  Kali just loves the water!  She learned to jump into the innertube from the side of the pool.  She loves having all of us watch her perform all of her stunts. Hoyt was very mellow in the pool that day...if he wasn't on my hip, I wouldn't have even known that he was there. :)

Kali loves to doll Hoyt up.  Hoyt kind of likes it too.  Good thing Daddy wasn't there! :)

Hoyt and Kali wearing Grandpa Holub's glasses!!!

Hoyt wearing Kali's baseball helmet

Hoyt and Kali got a hair cut on Thursday 7/12.  This was Hoyt's first hair cut in a salon.  They even used clippers and he did absolutely wonderful. They may have cut it a little too short on top, becasue I wanted it to have a spike....but he still looks adorable....and looks more grown up!
